Bousfield Primary School

Uniform

Currently, no uniform is worn at Bousfield, although this is something that is going to be slowly rolled out over the coming years, one year at a time. This is because we want to increase the sense of community and equality at the school. This year we are going to be developing the range, which will be simple and affordable, but with a Bousfield themed badge and a choice of coloured polo shirts. Current children will be able to wear the uniform if they wish and it will be worn by children entering the school in Reception class 2025.

From September 2024, Nursery children will wear a smock.

Other optional items are also available for children throughout the school.

Our provider for branded items is Sogans, of Greyhound Road. Parents can use this link to purchase items. Second hand items are available at coffee mornings.

Until the full roll out of uniform, we ask children to wear sensible clothes and shoes suitable for a day at school. We have the following expectations:

  • Children should be clean and tidy in appearance.
  • Long hair must be tied up.
  • Velcro fasteners on shoes for young children who are not yet used to tying their own laces.
  • All clothing must be named.
  • Children should not wear flimsy sandals which do not have ankle straps as these can be dangerous.
  • No jewellery is to be worn to school except stud earrings and a watch (not health or GPS trackers).
  • It is important that the children dress appropriately for PE by wearing the following clothes on days when they have PE or dance. This is so the children can move safely and freely.

    Plain white T Shirt
Navy shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
    Sweatshirt or fleece
    Trainers
